Experience
You need at least two years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the five years before you apply. The equal amount of part-time work experience is also eligible, as long as it is paid, in a skilled occupation listed in Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B of the 2022 version of Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC). Language
You must show that you meet or exceed the language threshold of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 with test results from a IRCC-designated language testing organization.
Education
You must provide either a Canadian educational credential or a foreign educational credential with an Educational Credential Assessment report for immigration Skilled work experience
You must have at least one year, in the last ten years before you submit your electronic application for permanent residence, of continuous full-time work purposes from a designated organization to prove that your overseas diploma, degree, or certificate is equivalent to a completed Canadian educational credential. (Points will be awarded based on the completed Canadian educational credential or the value of the foreign educational credential in Canadian standards.)
The CRS score is calculated out of 1200 and those candidates who fulfill the FSW point requirement are then placed according to their CRS score. The candidates with the highest CRS score are invited to apply (ITA) by the Canadian government.
If you have a score below 400, you can improve your profile by checking Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP), which may help to become a Permanent resident while on Express Entry. A province may select applicants with specific skills/trades as per the requirements of each Province as PNP selects applicants from the Express Entry pool. So to qualify for PNP one will need to create a profile on Express Entry.

As part of changes to the PGWP Program, all applicants will be required to demonstrate a minimum language proficiency in French or English. This will increase their ability to transition to permanent residence and adapt to changing economic conditions. A Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 for university graduates and CLB 5 for college graduates will be required for anyone applying for a post-graduation work permit on or after November 1, 2024.
